Expertise

With over 25 years of industry experience, Jill advises hotel owners and developers across the project lifecycle, focusing on how development decisions impact operations long after opening. Her work aligns design, budget, and scope with the realities of running a hotel. She provides owner representation and project advisory services, applying an operational lens to design review and decision-making. This includes evaluating layouts, materials, and programming based on real-world use by guests, housekeeping, and engineering—not just how they appear on paper. Jill is known for identifying downstream impacts early, where small decisions can drive inefficiencies, added labor, or long-term maintenance issues. She works closely with project teams to surface risks, guide practical solutions, and maintain alignment with financial and operational goals. From early planning through pre-opening, her focus is on delivering projects that perform as intended while staying on budget and on schedule.

Background

  • Primarily focused on the development and repositioning of properties, Jill has overseen over $1.5 billion of capital expenditures. She brings that experience and expertise to a range of investors and owners, leading development activities for them and/or providing advisory services. Prior to founding RED Hospitality, Jill served as the Senior Vice President of Design & Construction at Highgate for over 10 years. She got her start in the industry with on-property experience, in a variety of capacities, including at The Bryant Park Hotel, followed by work on the development of the original Hotel Gansevoort, in NYC’s Meatpacking District.

Professional & Other

With a degree from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration, Jill has worked in the boutique/lifestyle hotel segment of the market, as well as with all of the major brands.

Jill is a member of Female Founders in Hospitality.
