Matthew held senior management positions with Rocco Forte Hotels, Fairmont Hotels and Resorts and Metropolitan Hotels.
He was recruited to open a new Luxury-Resort, Spa and Eco-Centre. The new luxury resort i was named Top Ten Resorts in North America, Condé Nast Travelers Choice and Best New Restaurant in Canada. The resort ran 74% occupancy with a $320 ADR in its first year.
More recently he was General Manager of the acclaimed Hazelton Hotel in Toronto, which was for four years, the rate and RevPAR leader in the country and a member of The Leading Hotels of the World.
For the last seven years, Matthew has been Managing Director of Pearle Hospitality one of the fastest-growing hospitality companies in the country, developing a new operating model for private golf clubs, the successful launch of two new multi-million dollar operations and doubling the company’s revenues before taking on his current role of Director of Development.
